Functions Of The Subconscious Mind And How To Use Your Brain To Create The Life You Want

The subconscious mind controls all of your involuntary body functions for you: All of the things in you that work without having to attend to them. Some examples of these functions are:

1. Metabolic processes

2. Blood sugar level

3. Hormone output

4. Heart rate

5. Blood pressure

6. Respiratory rate

7. Perspiration

8. Eye blinking

9. Salivation

10. Elimination

If you can control more of your subconscious mind through the use of hypnosis and/or meditation, you may be able to affect some of these functions. Some of the stories that result from using hypnotic techniques about how people have learned to use the power of their minds are amazing. Consider the possibility that dramatic life changes may simply become everyday occurrences for you as well. Another by-product of hypnosis is that all of your body functions achieve a healthy balance when you are in alpha or theta brain wave states. For example, if you use self-hypnosis to lower your blood sugar, you may also be normalizing your blood pressure without even focusing on it.

All of your memories and related incidents are stored in your subconscious mind. It is the seat of your creativity, emotions, imagination and energy.

The two most common motivating forces in the subconscious are protection and punishment. Much of what you do is in response to your mind either wanting to protect you or punish you, usually the former.

The subconscious mind can be compared to a computerized elephant and your willpower is a mouse doing battle with it. Your mouse is flitting about, enthused and excited to create the changes you want in your life and the elephant just sits there, operating on old, outdated computer tapes, unwilling to be moved by the mouse. The mouse is doomed to failure. What hypnosis can do is show you how to move your elephant. Remember, elephants usually move slowly. Don't be impatient with your elephant. However, every time it moves, congratulate it. That will make the next moves easier and easier.

Self-Hypnosis - How To Practice Self-Hypnosis

When you hear the word 'hypnosis', you probably visualize a person sitting comfortably in a chair while listening to commands from a hypnotherapist. But did you know that the process need not be confined to that? It is fairly easy to learn hypnosis techniques that are aimed at hypnotizing one's self.

Yes, self-hypnosis is very much in practice and is currently recommended for relaxation, stress relief and helping you to achieve your goals -- whether that is quitting smoking or becoming more productive.. Experts assert that practicing self-hypnosis can help you with setting goals and it will help a person overcome fears and improve motivation for successful lifestyle changes.

Here are several simple techniques that will help you hypnotize yourself. Take some time to practice in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed and be sure to unplug your phone or turn off your ringer.

  1. Concentrate and focus your mind to a point that is slightly above the eye level. Take several deep breaths while you strive to relax.

  2. As you take deep breaths, imagine as if you are eliminating and breathing out all the bad vibes and air in your body. Imagine like you are taking out the troubles embedded in your body that cause tension, stress and discomfort. As you breathe in fresh air, think as if you are filling your self with all the positive energies.

  3. Close your eyes as you take deep breaths. Concentrate and try to focus on about three to five different sounds you can hear on the background like blowing of the air, running water and rain drops falling on the roof. Feel what you are feeling like the overall temperature of the skin and the perceived body weight against the chair.

  4. Get into the subconscious facets of your mind by doing this simple mental activity. Imagine yourself taking a walk down to a 10-step staircase that is spiral. The end would lead toy to a beautiful garden. On your last step, you set your foot to the ground and you feel the green lawn under your feet. Now also feel the warm rays of the sun.

  5. Be totally relaxed and repeat the suggestions in your mind. For example, if you want to succeed in your work, constantly say 'I will succeed at work'. After you have repeated your statement within your mind for several times, it is time to end the self-hypnosis session. Imagine yourself climbing back the stairs where you went down. You would be back to your ordinary mind state.

Once you have successfully mastered this simple form of self-hypnosis, then you can add the goals that you want to achieve to your method.

To advance your skills even more, you should consider learning some Conversational Hypnosis techniques, featuring many ways of rapidly gaining rapport and making your hypnotic suggestions powerfully persuasive through everyday conversation. It will do a great deal to improve your life, your success at work and your relationships.
